Edwin Of Northumbria
Edwin of Northumbria was a king who ruled over the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Northumbria from 616 to 633 AD. He is known for uniting various tribes and expanding his kingdom's territory. Edwin was the first king of Northumbria to convert to Christianity, influenced by his wife, Aethelburh, and the missionary Paulinus.
Edwin's reign is often marked by relative peace and prosperity, allowing for cultural and economic growth. However, his rule ended when he was defeated and killed at the Battle of Hatfield Chase in 633 AD, leading to a temporary decline in Northumbrian power.
