Edward, the Black Prince
Edward, the Black Prince was a prominent English prince and military leader during the 14th century. Born in 1330, he was the eldest son of King Edward III and played a crucial role in the Hundred Years' War against France. Known for his bravery and tactical skills, he earned the nickname "the Black Prince" due to his black armor.
He is best remembered for his victories at the battles of Crécy and Poitiers, where he captured the French king, John II. Despite his military success, Edward died young in 1376, leaving a significant legacy in English history.
