Education in Scotland
Education in Scotland is divided into three main stages: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Children typically start primary school at age five and attend for seven years. After primary school, they move on to secondary school, which lasts for four to six years, culminating in the Scottish Qualifications Authority exams, known as National 5s and Highers.
Higher education in Scotland is renowned for its quality, with several universities, including University of Edinburgh and University of Glasgow, offering a wide range of courses. Scottish students can benefit from lower tuition fees compared to those from the rest of the UK, making higher education more accessible.
