Edmund Ironside
Edmund Ironside was an English king who ruled for a brief period in 1016. He was the son of King Æthelred the Unready and Emma of Normandy. Edmund is best known for his resistance against the Danish invasion led by Cnut the Great. His reign was marked by battles and political struggles as he sought to defend his kingdom.
Despite his efforts, Edmund was ultimately defeated in battle. He was known for his bravery and determination, earning the nickname "Ironside." After his death, Cnut became the king of England, uniting the English and Danish crowns.
