Eddie Egan
Eddie Egan was an American athlete known for his achievements in boxing and bobsledding. He was born on April 26, 1930, in New York City. Egan gained fame as a boxer when he won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 Rome Olympics. His success in the sport made him a notable figure in American athletics.
After his boxing career, Egan transitioned to bobsledding, where he continued to excel. He competed in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, and won a gold medal in the four-man bobsled event. Egan remains one of the few athletes to have won Olympic medals in both summer and winter sports.
