Economic Commission for Africa
The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is a regional arm of the United Nations established in 1958. Its primary goal is to promote economic and social development in African countries by providing research, policy analysis, and technical assistance. The ECA works closely with African governments, regional organizations, and international partners to address challenges such as poverty, inequality, and sustainable development.
The ECA also plays a crucial role in fostering regional integration and cooperation among African nations. It organizes conferences, workshops, and forums to facilitate dialogue on economic issues and share best practices. By supporting initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the ECA aims to enhance trade and investment across the continent.
