Eco-Extremism
Eco-extremism refers to a radical approach to environmentalism that advocates for direct action, often through illegal or violent means, to protect nature. Proponents believe that traditional methods of activism, such as protests and lobbying, are insufficient to combat the environmental crises facing the planet. They may target industries or individuals they view as harmful to the environment.
This movement is often associated with groups that reject mainstream environmentalism, arguing that it compromises too much with industrial society. Eco-extremists may engage in sabotage, property destruction, or other extreme measures to draw attention to their cause and disrupt activities they see as ecologically damaging, such as logging, mining, or urban development.
