East Coast IPAs
East Coast IPAs, also known as New England IPAs (NEIPAs), are a style of India Pale Ale characterized by their hazy appearance and juicy, fruity flavors. They typically have a lower bitterness compared to their West Coast counterparts, focusing instead on hop aroma and flavor. Common hop varieties used include Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe, which contribute tropical and citrus notes.
These beers often have a smooth, creamy mouthfeel due to the use of oats and wheat in the brewing process. East Coast IPAs are usually unfiltered, enhancing their cloudiness and allowing the hop character to shine through. They have gained popularity for their refreshing taste and aromatic qualities.
