Earwig
An earwig is a small insect belonging to the order Dermaptera. They are characterized by their elongated bodies and distinctive pincers, or cerci, at the rear. Earwigs are typically brown or black and can be found in various habitats, including gardens and under rocks. They are nocturnal and often hide during the day.
Earwigs are omnivorous, feeding on decaying plant material, other insects, and even some live plants. While they are generally harmless to humans, they can sometimes damage crops. The common myth that earwigs crawl into people's ears is unfounded and not based on their behavior.
