Dyrhólaey Lighthouse
The Dyrhólaey Lighthouse is located on the Dyrhólaey promontory in southern Iceland. Built in 1927, it stands at 44 meters (144 feet) above sea level and serves as a navigational aid for ships along the rugged coastline. The lighthouse is painted white, making it easily visible against the dramatic landscape.
Visitors to the lighthouse can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area, including the black sand beaches and the famous Reynisfjara sea stacks. The site is also a popular spot for birdwatching, particularly during the summer months when puffins nest in the cliffs nearby.
