Duke of Württemberg
The Duke of Württemberg was a title held by the rulers of the historical region of Württemberg in southwestern Germany. The title emerged in the late Middle Ages and was officially recognized in the 15th century. The dukes played a significant role in the political and cultural development of the region, overseeing various reforms and territorial expansions.
In 1806, the title was elevated to King of Württemberg when the region became a kingdom within the German Confederation. The royal family continued to influence the area until the abolition of the monarchy in Germany after World War I, leading to the end of the ducal title.
