Duke of Guise
The Duke of Guise was a prominent French nobleman in the 16th century, known for his role in the French Wars of Religion. Born in 1519, he was a member of the powerful House of Guise, which was a leading family in the Catholic faction during the conflicts between Catholics and Huguenots (Protestants) in France.
He became the leader of the Catholic League and was influential in the political and military struggles of the time. The Duke of Guise was assassinated in 1588, which significantly impacted the course of the French Wars of Religion and the power dynamics in France.
