Duke of Connaught
The Duke of Connaught is a title in the British peerage, created in 1874 for Prince Arthur, the third son of Queen Victoria. The title is associated with the region of Connaught in Ireland, which is one of the four provinces of the country. The Duke held various military and ceremonial roles throughout his life, including serving as Governor General of Canada from 1911 to 1916.
The title has been passed down through the royal family, but it is not currently held by a prominent member. The Duke of Connaught's legacy includes contributions to the British monarchy and the strengthening of ties between Britain and Canada.
