Duke Eric of Pomerania
Duke Eric of Pomerania (1382–1459) was a notable ruler of the Duchy of Pomerania, located in present-day northern Poland and northeastern Germany. He became Duke in 1393 and was known for his efforts to strengthen the duchy's position in the region. Eric was also a member of the House of Griffins, a prominent noble family in Pomerania.
In addition to his role as duke, Eric was elected King of Sweden in 1436, although his reign was marked by challenges and conflicts. His rule in Sweden was short-lived, and he faced opposition from local nobles. Eric's legacy includes his attempts to unify the Nordic countries during a tumultuous period in their history.
