Duke Arthur II of Brittany
Duke Arthur II of Brittany was born in 1262 and became the Duke of Brittany in 1312. He was the son of John II, Duke of Brittany and Beatrice of England. Arthur II is known for his efforts to strengthen the duchy's independence and for his involvement in the political conflicts of his time, particularly with the Kingdom of France.
During his reign, Arthur II faced challenges from both internal factions and external pressures, including the ongoing struggle for control over Brittany. He died in 1341, leaving behind a legacy of striving for autonomy and stability in a turbulent period of medieval history.
