Duchy of Leiningen
The Duchy of Leiningen was a small German state located in the region of Rhineland-Palatinate. Established in the early 19th century, it was part of the larger Holy Roman Empire and later became part of the German Confederation. The duchy was ruled by the House of Leiningen, a noble family with historical ties to various European royal families.
In 1806, the duchy was officially recognized, and its territory included several towns and villages. The Duchy of Leiningen was dissolved in 1866 after the Austro-Prussian War, leading to its incorporation into the Prussian Province of Rhineland. Today, its legacy remains in the historical and cultural heritage of the region.
