Dragonfly
The dragonfly is an insect belonging to the order Odonata, known for its long body and large, multifaceted eyes. They are typically found near water sources, such as ponds and streams, where they lay their eggs. Dragonflies are skilled fliers, capable of hovering, flying backward, and even making sharp turns.
Dragonflies undergo a life cycle that includes three stages: egg, nymph, and adult. The nymph stage can last several months to years, depending on the species. As predators, dragonflies feed on other insects, including mosquitoes, making them beneficial for controlling pest populations in their habitats.
