Dragon Blood Tree
The Dragon Blood Tree, scientifically known as Dracaena cinnabari, is a unique tree native to the Socotra Archipelago in the Arabian Sea. It is easily recognizable by its umbrella-shaped canopy and thick, spiky leaves. The tree gets its name from the red sap it produces, which resembles blood and has been used historically for various purposes, including traditional medicine and dye.
This tree thrives in arid environments and can live for hundreds of years. Its unusual shape and striking appearance make it a popular subject for photography and a symbol of the unique biodiversity found on Socotra, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
