Dr. Vikram Sarabhai was an Indian physicist and visionary who played a crucial role in establishing the Indian space program. Born on August 12, 1919, he is often referred to as the father of Indian space research. His efforts led to the creation of the Indian National Committee for Space Research in 1962, which later evolved into the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
In addition to his contributions to space science, Dr. Sarabhai was a strong advocate for the use of technology in improving the quality of life in India. He founded several institutions, including the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and emphasized the importance of education and research in driving national development.
