Dr. B. C. Roy
Dr. B. C. Roy, full name Bidhan Chandra Roy, was a prominent Indian physician and politician born on July 1, 1882. He played a significant role in the development of modern medicine in India and was instrumental in establishing several medical institutions, including the West Bengal Medical College and the Indian Medical Association.
In addition to his medical contributions, Dr. Roy served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 until his death in 1962. He was honored with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in recognition of his service to the nation and his dedication to healthcare and education.
