Doubtful Sound
Doubtful Sound is a stunning fjord located in Fiordland National Park on the southwestern coast of New Zealand. It is known for its dramatic cliffs, lush rainforests, and cascading waterfalls. The sound is often shrouded in mist, creating a mystical atmosphere that attracts visitors seeking natural beauty and tranquility.
Unlike many other fjords, Doubtful Sound is less accessible, requiring a boat trip across Lake Manapouri followed by a bus ride over the Wilmot Pass. This isolation contributes to its pristine environment, making it a haven for wildlife, including dolphins, seals, and various bird species.
