Dorje (Thunderbolt)
The term "Dorje," often translated as "thunderbolt," is a significant symbol in Tibetan Buddhism. It represents the indestructible nature of enlightenment and the power to overcome ignorance. The Dorje is typically depicted as a ritual object, resembling a double-ended scepter, and is used in various ceremonies and practices.
In addition to its symbolic meaning, the Dorje is associated with the deity Vajrayogini and is often paired with the bell, or ghanta, which represents wisdom. Together, they embody the union of compassion and wisdom, essential principles in Buddhist philosophy.
