Doris Lessing
Doris Lessing was a British-Zimbabwean writer born on October 22, 1919, in Kermanshah, Persia (now Iran). She is best known for her novels, essays, and short stories that explore themes of feminism, politics, and social justice. Her most famous work, The Golden Notebook, published in 1962, is often regarded as a landmark in feminist literature.
Lessing received numerous awards throughout her career, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2007. Her writing often reflects her experiences growing up in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and her views on the complexities of human relationships and societal structures. She passed away on November 17, 2013.
