Domenico Cimarosa
Domenico Cimarosa was an Italian composer born on December 17, 1749, in Aversa, Italy. He is best known for his operas, particularly the comic opera Il matrimonio segreto, which premiered in 1792 and remains one of his most celebrated works. Cimarosa's music is characterized by its melodic charm and lively rhythms, reflecting the style of the late 18th century.
Cimarosa's career flourished in various European cities, including Vienna and St. Petersburg, where he gained recognition for his contributions to the operatic genre. He composed over 70 operas, along with sacred music and chamber works, before his death on January 11, 1801. His influence on the development of opera is still acknowledged today.
