Diwali Festival in India
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India. It usually takes place in October or November and lasts for five days. The festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. People decorate their homes with diyas (oil lamps) and colorful rangoli designs, and they exchange sweets and gifts with family and friends.
During Diwali, many people perform prayers to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Fireworks light up the night sky, and communities come together to celebrate with feasts and cultural events. The festival fosters a sense of unity and joy among people of all backgrounds.
