Divya Desams
Divya Desams are 108 sacred temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu in Hinduism, revered in the ancient Tamil texts known as the Nalayira Divya Prabandham. These temples are significant pilgrimage sites for devotees, as they are believed to be places where Vishnu manifested in various forms.
The Alvars, a group of Tamil poet-saints, composed hymns praising these temples, highlighting their spiritual importance. Each Divya Desam is associated with unique legends and deities, making them vital to the Vaishnavism tradition. Pilgrims often visit these sites to seek blessings and experience the rich cultural heritage of Hinduism.
