Districts of Portugal
Portugal is divided into 18 districts, which serve as administrative regions. Each district has its own capital city, and they are further divided into municipalities. The districts are located in both mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira.
The largest district by area is Beja, while the most populous is Lisbon. Each district has unique cultural and geographical features, contributing to the diverse identity of Portugal. The districts play a crucial role in local governance and the organization of public services across the country.
