Disc (Disk)
A disc (or disk) is a flat, circular object often used for storing data or information. Common types include compact discs (CDs), digital versatile discs (DVDs), and Blu-ray discs. These storage mediums use laser technology to read and write data, making them essential for music, movies, and software distribution.
In addition to data storage, discs can also refer to physical objects like vinyl records, which are used for playing music. Another example is the intervertebral discs in the human spine, which act as cushions between the vertebrae, providing support and flexibility to the back.
