Diprotodon
Diprotodon was a large marsupial that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, around 1.6 million to 46,000 years ago. It is considered the largest known marsupial to have ever existed, reaching lengths of up to 4 meters (13 feet) and weighing over 2,700 kilograms (6,000 pounds). Diprotodon had a robust body, large head, and two forward-facing teeth, which gave it its name, meaning "two forward teeth."
These creatures roamed the grasslands and open woodlands of Australia, feeding primarily on leaves, shrubs, and grasses. Fossils of Diprotodon have been found across the continent, providing valuable insights into the prehistoric ecosystems of Australia. Their extinction is believed to be linked to climate change and human activities.
