Dinosaur Feeding Habits
Dinosaurs had diverse feeding habits based on their species. Some, like the Tyrannosaurus rex, were carnivores, meaning they primarily ate meat. They hunted other dinosaurs and scavenged for food. In contrast, herbivores such as the Triceratops fed on plants, using their strong jaws and teeth to chew leaves, ferns, and other vegetation.
Additionally, some dinosaurs were omnivores, consuming both plants and animals. For example, the Oviraptor likely ate eggs and small animals, as well as fruits and seeds. These varied diets allowed dinosaurs to adapt to different environments and available food sources during the Mesozoic era.
