Dinorwig
Dinorwig is a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station located in Wales, near the village of Llanberis. It was constructed in the late 1970s and is situated within the Elidir Fawr mountain range. The facility uses two large reservoirs to store water, which can be released to generate electricity during peak demand periods.
The power station has a total capacity of 1,728 megawatts, making it one of the largest of its kind in Europe. It plays a crucial role in balancing the electricity supply and demand, helping to stabilize the grid and support renewable energy sources like wind and solar power.
