Digestive Tract
The digestive tract is a series of hollow organs that work together to break down food, absorb nutrients, and eliminate waste. It starts at the mouth, where food is chewed and mixed with saliva, and continues through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine.
Each part of the digestive tract has a specific function. The stomach further breaks down food using acids and enzymes, while the small intestine absorbs most nutrients. Finally, the large intestine absorbs water and forms waste, which is expelled from the body through the rectum.
