Diego Columbus
Diego Columbus was the son of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Born in 1480 in Genoa, Italy, he became an important figure in the Spanish colonial administration. Diego served as the governor of the Colony of Hispaniola and was involved in the management of the territories that his father had discovered during his voyages to the New World.
After his father's death in 1506, Diego sought to uphold his father's legacy and secure the rights to the lands and titles granted to him. He faced challenges from rival explorers and the Spanish crown, but he continued to advocate for the interests of the Columbus family throughout his life. Diego Columbus died in 1526.
