Diefenbaker Dam
The Diefenbaker Dam is a large earth-fill dam located on the South Saskatchewan River in Canada. Completed in 1971, it was named after John Diefenbaker, the 13th Prime Minister of Canada. The dam plays a crucial role in water management, flood control, and irrigation for the surrounding agricultural areas.
The reservoir created by the dam, known as Lake Diefenbaker, is one of the largest in Saskatchewan. It provides recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, and camping, attracting visitors to the region. The dam also generates hydroelectric power, contributing to the local energy supply.
