Dicotyledon
A Dicotyledon, commonly known as a dicot, is a type of flowering plant that has two seed leaves, or cotyledons, in its seeds. This group includes a wide variety of plants, such as roses, sunflowers, and oak trees. Dicotyledons typically have broad leaves with a network of veins and can be found in many habitats around the world.
Dicots are characterized by their floral structures, which usually have petals in multiples of four or five. They also tend to have a taproot system, where a single main root grows deeper into the soil. This group is one of the two major classes of flowering plants, the other being Monocotyledons.
