Diana Ross and the Supremes
Diana Ross and the Supremes was an American female singing group formed in 1959, known for their significant impact on the Motown sound. The original lineup included Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard. They achieved great success in the 1960s with hits like "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "You Can't Hurry Love," becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.
The group was instrumental in popularizing Motown Records and played a key role in the music scene during the civil rights movement. After Diana Ross left the group in 1970 to pursue a solo career, the Supremes continued with different members but never regained the same level of fame.
