Dialysis Machines
A dialysis machine is a medical device used to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood when the kidneys are unable to perform this function. This process, known as dialysis, is essential for patients with kidney failure or severe kidney disease. The machine mimics the natural filtering process of healthy kidneys, helping to maintain the body's balance of electrolytes and fluids.
During dialysis, blood is drawn from the body and passed through the machine, where it is cleaned and then returned. There are two main types of dialysis: hemodialysis, which uses a machine and a special filter called a dialyzer, and peritoneal dialysis, which uses the lining of the abdomen to filter blood.
