Diademed Sifaka
The Diademed Sifaka is a species of lemur found exclusively in the rainforests of Madagascar. It is known for its striking appearance, featuring a white body with a distinctive golden-brown crown on its head, which resembles a diadem. This primate is primarily arboreal, spending most of its time in trees, where it moves gracefully by leaping between branches.
Diademed Sifakas are social animals, living in small groups that typically consist of a few adults and their offspring. They primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers, playing a crucial role in their ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal. Their conservation status is currently listed as endangered due to habitat loss and hunting.
