Desmoid Tumors
Desmoid tumors are rare, non-cancerous growths that arise from connective tissue, often found in the abdomen, arms, or legs. They can vary in size and may cause discomfort or pain, depending on their location. Although they do not spread to other parts of the body, they can be locally aggressive and may recur after treatment.
The exact cause of desmoid tumors is not well understood, but they are sometimes associated with genetic conditions like familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). Treatment options include surgery, medication, and observation, depending on the tumor's size and symptoms.
