Depositions
A deposition is a legal process where a witness provides sworn testimony outside of the courtroom. This testimony is recorded and can be used later in a trial. Depositions are typically conducted during the discovery phase of a case, allowing both parties to gather information and assess the strength of their arguments.
During a deposition, attorneys from both sides ask questions, and the witness answers under oath. The process is usually held in a lawyer's office and is transcribed by a court reporter. Depositions are important for cases involving lawsuits, personal injury, or contract disputes.
