Departments of Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is divided into 13 administrative regions, which are further subdivided into 45 departments. Each department serves as a local government unit, responsible for various administrative functions and public services. The departments are essential for managing local affairs and implementing national policies at the community level.
The capital city, Ouagadougou, is located in the Centre region and serves as the political and economic hub of the country. Other notable regions include Hauts-Bassins, Centre-Ouest, and Est, each with its own unique cultural and geographical characteristics that contribute to the diversity of Burkina Faso.
