Dental Pulp
Dental pulp is the soft tissue found in the center of a tooth. It contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, playing a crucial role in the tooth's health and development. The pulp helps nourish the tooth and provides sensory functions, such as detecting temperature changes.
When a tooth is damaged or infected, the dental pulp can become inflamed or necrotic, leading to pain and potential tooth loss. In such cases, a dental procedure called root canal therapy may be necessary to remove the affected pulp and preserve the tooth's structure.
