Demotic Script
Demotic Script is an ancient Egyptian writing system that evolved around the 7th century BCE. It was derived from Hieratic, a cursive form of Hieroglyphs, and was used primarily for administrative, legal, and literary texts. Demotic is characterized by its simplified and more abstract characters, making it easier to write quickly.
The script was widely used until the 5th century CE and played a crucial role in the documentation of Egyptian culture and society. It was eventually replaced by Coptic, which incorporated Greek letters. Demotic inscriptions can be found on various artifacts, including papyrus scrolls and stone monuments.
