Delaware and Hudson Railway
The Delaware and Hudson Railway (D&H) was a major railroad in the northeastern United States, established in 1823. It primarily served the regions of New York and Pennsylvania, facilitating the transport of coal, lumber, and other goods. The railway played a crucial role in the industrial growth of the area, connecting various towns and cities.
In 1968, the D&H merged with the Canadian Pacific Railway, expanding its reach and services. The railway was known for its scenic routes, particularly through the Catskill Mountains, and contributed significantly to the development of the Hudson River region's economy.
