Defence Research and Development Organisation
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is an agency of the Government of India responsible for the development of technology for use by the Indian Armed Forces. Established in 1958, its primary goal is to enhance India's self-reliance in defence systems and equipment. DRDO works on various projects, including missiles, aircraft, and electronic warfare systems.
DRDO collaborates with various research institutions, universities, and industries to innovate and produce advanced defence technologies. Some notable projects include the development of the Agni and Prithvi missile systems, as well as the Tejas fighter aircraft. Through these efforts, DRDO aims to strengthen national security and support the country's defence capabilities.
