De Oostvaarders
De Oostvaarders is a nature reserve located in the Netherlands, specifically in the province of Flevoland. Established in the 1980s, it spans approximately 56 square kilometers and is known for its unique ecosystem, which includes wetlands, grasslands, and forests. The reserve is home to various wildlife species, including Konik horses, red deer, and wild cattle, which roam freely in the area.
The reserve was created as part of a larger project to restore natural habitats in polder areas. It aims to promote biodiversity and provide a space for both wildlife and visitors to connect with nature. De Oostvaarders has become a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
