David Scott is an American astronaut and retired United States Air Force officer. He was born on June 6, 1932, in Denver, Colorado. Scott is best known for his role in the Apollo 15 mission, where he became the seventh person to walk on the Moon. He also served as the commander of the Gemini 8 mission, which was the first to successfully dock two spacecraft in orbit.
In addition to his space missions, David Scott has a background in engineering and earned a degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. After retiring from NASA, he worked in various roles, including as a businessman and educator, contributing to advancements in aerospace technology.
