David Saint-Jacques is a Canadian astronaut and astrophysicist born on January 27, 1970, in La Prairie, Quebec. He earned a degree in physics from McGill University and a doctorate in astrophysics from Université de Sherbrooke. Saint-Jacques joined the Canadian Space Agency in 2009 and completed his first space mission in December 2018. During this mission, he spent over six months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), conducting scientific research and experiments to advance our understanding of space and its effects on the human body.
