David Munrow
David Munrow was a British musician and musicologist, born on September 12, 1942. He was known for his expertise in early music and played a variety of historical instruments, including the recorder and shawm. Munrow was a prominent figure in the revival of medieval and Renaissance music, contributing significantly to its popularity in the 20th century.
In addition to performing, Munrow was a dedicated educator and founded the Early Music Consort of London in 1967. He also produced numerous recordings and television programs that showcased early music. Sadly, he passed away on October 15, 1976, leaving a lasting impact on the field of historical music performance.
