Daubenton's Bat
Daubenton's Bat is a small species of bat found across Europe and parts of Asia. It typically has a wingspan of about 24 to 27 centimeters and weighs around 8 to 14 grams. This bat is easily recognized by its broad, rounded ears and a distinctive fur color that ranges from brown to gray.
These bats are known for their unique feeding habits, often foraging for insects over water surfaces. They use echolocation to navigate and locate prey, making them effective hunters at dusk and dawn. Daubenton's Bat prefers habitats near rivers, lakes, and wetlands, where food is abundant.
